Rushan
City, thus named because of huge Rushan
Mountain (breast-shaped mountain) inside its
territory, covers an area of 1668 square
kilometers, contains a population of 574,000
and under its jurisdiction administers two
development zones of provincial class, 14
towns, one sub-district office and 601
villages. Rushan is a newly rising coastal
city with a short history on merely 50 odds
years since its institution as a county. In
the period of over 10 years since the city
institution from removal of formal county in
1993, Rushan has witnessed dramatic growth and
development, now standing among the top 100
counties in term of overall development, the
top 100 counties in term of economic
competitive power the top 100 medium-small
sized cities in term of comprehensive force

Favourable
in geographic position: Over looking Japan and
the Republic of Korea across sea and situated
at the junction of the three municipalities of
Qingdao, Yantai and Weihai, it boasts
facilitated communication and transportation
by sea, land and air with Qingdao-Weihai Super
Highway, the 309th National
Highway, Jinan-Weihai Railway crossing its
territory, and one and half hours drive away
from the city proper to the above 3
municipalities respectively. In particular,
along with the construction and completion of
the coastal expressway around the peninsula
and the tourist route around the sea, the
unique advantage of Rushan’s geographic
position becomes increasingly outstanding.
Perfect in
infrastructure: In recent years, a total
amount of 20 billion yuan has been
successively invested into infrastructure
construction. Facilities of public utilities
of water, electricity, road, heat and
telecommunication are rather complete and
perfect. The local highly network composed of
4 longitudinal ones and 4 latitudinal ones as
well as one circle road has taken shape. The
rate of centralized treatment of urban sewage
has reached 75 per cent, the innocuous
treatment of household garbage reached 100
percent and coverage of green beautification
in the urban district reached 40 per cent. Its
economic development zone and Yintan tourism
vocational zone both of provincial class, with
their perfect infrastructure, increment of
carrying capacity and prominent drawing

fruits of various kinds, hence a major fruit
growing base in Jiaodong. Rushan, teeming with
gold and silver, has long been titled as
“golden hills and silvery beaches”. It
annually yields 100,000 liang of gold, ranking
the 5th position in the country.
Picturesque in
natural environment: It boasts Juyu Natural
Forest Park, the National AAAA grade Yintan
Tourism Vacational Zone titled as “the first
beach on earth”, Tangshang Hot Spring,
constituting an integrity featured of one
mountain, one beach and one spring as well as
such landscapes and scenic spots as Darushan
Mountain, Sanctuary of Taoism, Sacred Water
Temple. A number of large recreational and
entertainment projects have been or yet to be
completed such as Darushan Leisure Vacation
Zone, Juyushan Landscape, the Oriental Ruyi
International Metropolis, Gold Culture Garden,
Furudonghai (Fortune and happiness as great as
the eastern sea) Culture Garden. Therefore
